"There's no way I was born just to pay bills and die"
The outdoors has always been my true calling. There is something special about being outside, surrounded by nature . It’s more than the smells, sounds, and the beauty. It’s deeper, the mental refreshing of mind and body – You can’t control it, only to enjoy and fear it. It humbles everyone, bringing us back to reality that we are small compared to the world. Growing up I was fortunate to have a family who loved to travel. From overseas to long weekend trips out of Maine. One of the most memorable times was back in middle school, my family took a road trip cross country during summer break in the United States and parts of Canada with a van and a pop-up trailer! We visited national parks, vistas, glaciers, plains of the Midwest, rivers of the pacific northwest and the dry heat of Arizona and Texas and back to Maine again. I didn’t appreciate it as much back then as I do now. But it has shaped the travel bug within me. I’m excited for what my future holds!
"Fly not; stand stiff: ambition's debt is paid"
Famously known for the phrase “no breaks”, I see every adventure as a challenge. I am constantly trying to push my limit to become a better individual. There is rarely a case where I will say no to an adventure I’m not familiar with. Being a mechanical engineer, I’ve always been interested in finding ways for technology and nature to coexist. As a lifetime Mainer, I am deeply in touch with the phrase, “Maine, the way life should be”. At young age I showed a great interest in the outdoors. I was always begging to be outside. My brother and I would be climbing trees and exploring the forest in some fantasy we created as we climbed off the bus, instead of running to the tv to watch cartoons. Thanks to my job and great friends, I have had the chance to explore many parts of the world in my adult life.
